Our Beliefs

What We Believe

We believe that statements of faith are only as useful as they can be lived out. Therefore, we endeavor to make these statements of faith a matter of our hearts, not just our heads. Following each statement of faith are suggestions for how you can apply the belief to your everyday life. We hope they will be a launching point for your journey in seeking to know God more so you can love Him more.

We believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,

We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12

Our Practices

The Lord’s Supper

We observe the Lord’s Supper on a weekly basis because we seek to follow the example of the early church. They shared in the Lord’s Supper whenever they gathered together for worship (Acts 2:46-47; 20:7).

Jesus instituted the practice of sharing the broken bread and poured out juice as a means of remembering His sacrifice for our sins (Matthew 26:17-30; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

We share in the Lord’s Supper as a testimony of our faith in the crucified and risen Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:26) and as a symbol of our unity in Him (John 17; Ephesians 4:1-6; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34).

Baptism

We practice baptism by immersion for those who are old enough to understand and believe the basic, simple gospel message. We see in Scripture that believers were able to make life-changing decision by believing (Mark 16:!6), discipleship (Matthew 28:19), and repentance (Acts 2:38).

We practice baptism by immersion because we seek to follow the example of Jesus and that of the early church (Mark 1:10-11; Acts 8:34-39; Acts 10:47-48). We believe it is the best living picture of our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We then hold that picture to symbolize our new life in Christ as we endeavor to live a ‘baptized life.’ That is, a life submerged in the identity (the name, or character and nature) of God the Father, Son, and Spirit.
