another solid worship website

For those of you who are into the technological and technical aspects of worship, Musicademy is a great site to check out.  The main feature that I enjoy is their (mostly) daily blog in which they share tips on everything from making the technical side of worship work right, to spiritual emphases and worship leading.

Based out of the UK, many of the contributors to Musicademy are professional musicians who have played with everyone from Delirious to Tim Hughes to Matt Redman to Chris Tomlin (my apologies for that last one….) :-/

They’ve got great hearts – both for the spiritual and the technical aspects of worship.  They are skilled at helping amateur bands (like those of us in many of our churches) progress in our technical skills and learn what it is like to play in a band with other musicians.

Right now they are running a series of articles entitled 50 Tips – Playing Together As A Team.  They are posting them in sections – 10 tips at a time.  Here’s a link to the second set of tips….

And the main blog page is here

Of Train Wrecks and Rescues, Part 2

This morning while doing some research on worship leading, I came across a website with an incredible amount of articles and helpful materials relating to leading worship.  This particular little gem of an article is an excellent reminder of what’s really important.  And it’s a great read for all of you who, like me, have ever been involved in the “worship train wreck.”

I love technology…

I love technology…

Ok,  not really.  I’ve been wanting to post for a couple of weeks, but my blog software has been giving me some trouble on my end.  Our webmaster is a great fellow, and he’s been working on it diligently.  We’ve discovered that I am able to temporarily post using Firefox, the browser from Mozilla (you can download Firefox 3.0.8 here). You should not have any trouble reading or commenting in other browsers though.  It’s just a problem on my end.

So I’m back online for the time being. To the dismay of more than a few of you, I’m afraid.

Thanks for all your comments in the past month.  I enjoy them, I read every one of them, and I will try to respond to most of them.  I should have mentioned earlier in this blog – feel free to disagree with any of my posts, and to do so online.  Those of you who know me know that I’m always up for a good argument.  Plus, (if you want me to be brutally honest), what I REALLY like about a blog is that if you make an argument that I can’t refute, I can just delete it!  In the immortal words of Jeebs in one of my favorite movies, Men in Black II – “Perfect!”
