At The Movies (New Lens) - Co-Mission

What is the mission of the Church?

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Great Commission that Jesus gives is simply this: Make disciples of Jesus.

“Global evangelism is not OUR mission; it’s GOD’S mission. It’s merely our Co-Mission.” (Mark Moore)

Making disciples is a lot more like mentoring or life coaching or modeling than it is like teaching a class.

Is the way that you are living your life leading other people to be more like Jesus?

“Wherever God places you, your purpose is clear: to help at least one person take at least one step toward God and others.” (Mark Moore)

Global evangelism is not OUR mission; it’s GOD’S mission. It’s merely our co-mission.

[Communion verse]

John 6:35 – Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
